july 2022: shalom from Jerusalem!

Dear Family and Friends,

I (Caitlyn) had planned to send this out while we were in North Carolina, but our time there was spent with family and friends while resting, traveling, and enjoying our last week in the States. We were also blessed with the opportunity to share at my family’s home church, lead worship, and watch my mom be commissioned to be the Women’s Pastor there! We’re so grateful the timing worked out to be apart of that celebration.

And here we are instead writing from Jerusalem, Israel on the Mount of Olives!

This month had a focus of bringing closure to our life Stateside and equipping job replacements, our house, and ministry partners to continue serving and loving well in Idaho. This has looked like Fourth of July bonfires, movie nights, game nights, yardwork, house projects, job training, making training materials for work and ministry, hosting out-of-state friends, spending time with family, speaking at churches, spending a couple of weeks at a Bible camp in Idaho to help with their worship internship, and finishing out the month in the Carolinas with my (Caitlyn’s) family.

We had a quick flight from Raleigh to JFK and explored New York on a brief layover. From there we traveled to Lisbon, Portugal where we had a short layover in the airport before flying the last stretch to Tel Aviv, Israel. We had the ideal flight schedule to get the upper hand on jet lag, although we are definitely still feeling the time difference today. No luggage was lost, the customs line was quick, and transportation to the base went smoothly despite being so late at night.

We arrived at the House around 2am, moved into our room, and received their blessing to rest today. We attended a staff prayer meeting as well as a planning/update meeting for the convocation earlier this afternoon. We are excited to continue reaching out to those in North America (and beyond) to help build teams to come to Israel! This year, we are believing for two young adults (in their 20s) to come from each state in America. We are also hoping for as many groups of 10 that would like to come to be here with us! If you are interested in registering or getting more information, please reach out to us!

Starting tomorrow we will take on a prayer shift from 4-6pm (Jerusalem time) every day. We will spend this time in prayer for Israel, the Middle East, America, and whatever else we are led to intercede for. There are instruments in the prayer room as well, and we are excited to use this time for worship as well!

We have been blown away by the warm welcome here and how excited they are to have American representatives! There are staff members from Israel, India, Russia, England, Brazil, Taiwan, China, and many more countries. There are convocation volunteers from many of the nations as well. It’s amazing to see so many people believe so passionately about the worth of Jesus and the Father’s heart for the nation of Israel!

Our journey is just beginning, but we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful supporters! We would not be in Israel right now without this external support! Our desire has been to have a large network of people supporting us in prayer and donations, and we have been so blessed in both areas. We are so grateful for all who have already financially and prayerfully supported us over the last few months!

We needed $15,000 for an initial deposit (covers the first six months) which we raised and sent to JHOPFAN to confirm our place as staff before we left. Moving forward, we will need $2,800 in monthly support. We currently have $2,260 in monthly support which means that we need $540 still to be fully supported each month. We are praising God for how quickly so many things have lined up and believing that the remaining monthly supporters will come! We are so touched by the generosity of all the family, friends, church communities, and even strangers who have given to us and committed to praying for us. If you are still wanting to contribute, the best way to give financially is through a one-time or monthly donation. You can give through our website, stevenstotheone.com, through Tithe.ly, PayPal, Zelle, or the WordPress donation box. Tithe.ly is our preferred, and only tax-deductible, method.

Thank you again for partnering with us in this adventure! We know it is a sacrifice to support us financially, and we want you to know how much we truly appreciate it. We also want to be clear that your prayerful support means much more to us than any donation. We’d also love to invite you to follow our blog and social media profiles for all our updates and stories! We are so grateful for our team of prayer warriors, generous givers, and Kingdom family! Thanks for being a part of it!

With Love and Shalom, Michael + Caitlyn Stevens

Yes, the diverse community is truly one of the most beautiful things about being here. The worship and prayer times are so special with so many languages being spoken at one time! It really gives a picture of what heaven will look like one day. 🙂 Thank you for the kind words and prayers, Darlene! Blessings.

It is absolutely an adventure with Him! If the first week has been this exciting, it’ll be fun to see how this year plays out! He always has good plans. 🙂 Blessings to you Megan!
